Malofiej19 awards

At this year's Malofiej Awards in Pamplona, Spain, we won six medals, four of them for graphics in our new Magazine »IN GRAPHICS«.

Malofiej is a yearly event, organized by the spanish chapter of the Society for Newsdesign (SND).

There were an overall of 1356 entries from 151 publications from 29 coutries. There were 8 Gold (5 print, 3 online), which went to National Geographic Magazine (USA), The Washington Post (USA), Público (Portugal), NYTimes.com (USA), Estadao.com.br (Brazil) and Golden Section Graphics (Germany).

There were 25 Silver Awards and 77 Bronze. Other medals which went to Germany were for weekly Newspaper »Die ZEIT« (1 Bronze) and Berlin-based KIRCHER-BURKHARD (1 Bronze).

GOLD, SILBER & 4 x BRONZE für GOLDEN SECTION GRAPHICS bei MALOFIEJ 19

Wir haben bei den diesjährigen Malofiej-Awards in Spanien sechs Preise gewinnen können, vier davon sind Grafiken aus unserer neuen Zeitschrift »IN GRAPHICS«. Eingereicht wurden insgesamt 1356 Arbeiten von 151 Publikationen aus 29 Ländern. Organisiert werden die Malofiej Awards vom spanischen Chapter der SND. Insgesamt gab es nur 8 mal GOLD (5 im Print/3 Online), die weiteren GOLD-Gewinner: National Geographic Magazine (USA), The Washington Post (USA), Público (PORTUGAL), NYTimes.com (USA), Estadao.com.br (BRASILIEN). Es gab 25 mal SILBER und 77 mal BRONZE. Weiter deutsche Medaillien: DIE ZEIT (1xBronze) und KIRCHER BURKHARDT (1xBRONZE)

Grafik Nr. 92 - Die Zeit - Fukushima


Die schockierenden Nachrichten aus Japan reißen nicht ab. Nach dem stärksten gemessenen Erdbeben Japans mit einer Stärke von Magnitude 9 und einem verheerenden Tsunami mit bis zu 10 Metern Höhe ist eine nukleare Katastrophe im Gange.

Wir hatten die Gelegenheit, für die ZEIT eine ganzseitige Infografik zu erstellen. Sie zeigt das Kernkraftwerk, einen Schnitt durch die Gebäude und ein Cutaway eines Reaktors.

We had the opportunity to make an infographic for the German weekly newspaper »Die ZEIT«. It shows the power plant, a schematic cut through the buildings and give a look into a typical reactor.

Grafik Nr. 91 - Die Zeit


Die Entdeckung des Ötzis jährt sich zum 20. Male. Eine neue Ausstellung im Landesmuseum in Südtirol (Italien) zeigt eine neue Visualisierung des berühmten Eismanns der beiden Brüder Adrie und Alfons Kennis aus den Niederlanden. Wir zeigen die neusten wissenschaftlichen Erkenntnisse in unserer Infografik. Die wunderschönen Handzeichnungen stammen von unserem freien Mitarbeiter Fabian Rüdy aus der Schweiz. // The discovery of the famous iceman has its 20th anniversary. There is a new exhibition in the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology in Italy that shows a new visualisation of the Oetzi, made by the brothers Adrie und Alfons Kennis from the Netherlands. We show the newest scientific findings in our infographic. The illustrations was drawn by our freelancer Fabian Rüdy from Switzerland.

Grafik in der ZEIT


Unsere Karte (3D-Weltkugel), die wir im Auftrage des Politik-ressorts der ZEIT hergestellt haben, zeigt die Situation in Nordafrika und Arabien um 1914 zu Zeiten der Kolonialmächte. Dargestellt sind die Grenzen von Frankreich, Italien, Spanien und Großbritannien, sowie das Osmanische Reich. Zusätzlich zeigen wir die unterschieldichen Stämme und Völker der Region, die heutigen Staatsgrenzen und das Osmanische Reich in seiner größten Ausdehnung.//Our map (a 3-D globe) shows the situation in North Africa and Arabia around 1914, the time of colonial powers. It depicts the Borders of France, Italy, Spain and Great Britain, as well as the Ottoman Empire. Additionally, you can see the territories of the different tribes and peoples of that region, today’s political borders and the Ottoman Empire in its largest expanse.
